Malcolm M. Drummond, Electronics Engineer at ENI/MKS Instruments, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements and leadership in electronic engineering.
A registered professional engineer by trade, Mr. Drummond has been in his field since 1964, and worked with ENI/MKS until 2008. He is well known for developing the tunable multiphase offset DDS in 2008, and he once championed a movement to stop corporations from committing illegal activities in cheating long-term employees out of pension money. Mr. Drummond is currently a treasurer for the Principle Foundation of Western New York and a director emeritus of the Rochester Engineering Society. He is also a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award as well as the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr. Drummond has appeared in Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in the World. He started life in London, England, and graduated with a BSEE, with honors, from the City, University of London before coming to the U.S. in 1966. At the time, Mr. Drummond worked with the English Foreign and Commonwealth Office as an engineer and joined the General Dynamics Corporation in New York as a senior engineer. He worked with Taylor Precision Products and Sybron Corporation through 1985, and was a product engineer with Hampshire Instruments Corporation through 1993, followed by seven years with User Friendly Operating Systems, Inc. In the new millennium, Mr. Drummond lent his expertise to the Eastman Kodak Company, Principia College as a professor of electronics, and joined ENI/MKS in 2000.
In his civic community, Mr. Drummond has held the roles of president, first reader, and chairman of the First Church of Christ, Scientist [Rochester branch] and was a Christian science [sic] minister with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 1974 to 1980. Among his numerous professional involvements, he has supported numerous sections of the IEEE, and was chairman of the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Seminar from 1987 to 1988. Other roles include chairman of the American Society for Engineering Management, member of the ethics committee of the Monroe County Bar Association, and chairman of the IEEE Pension Task Force.
